Alistair joined the Mill Team in the Middle of 2021 bringing with him 6 years practice experience in a long-standing Scottish practice. He has been involved in working with several RSL and local Authority’s to deliver several large scale sustainable affordable housing projects including extra-care housing, as well as working with private clients to help deliver a project that they will love.

With a background in placemaking and suitable design. Alistair enjoying exploring and apply theories in urban and rural placemaking on developments, with a particular interest in public spaces and the impact these spaces have on our physical and mental wellbeing. He also has gained experience in working with suitable technologies to help provide strategies in reducing the built environment impact on the world.

Alistair studies at the Scott Sutherland School of Architect in 2015, where he Graduated with a master’s in architecture with Merit. He registered with the ARB after completing his Part III studies at the start of 2020.

Outside of the office Alistair is a keen rugby player where he loves to play for his local club in Edinburgh, as well as supporting Edinburgh and Scotland where you will often see him at a game.

What gets me out of bed,
Getting to work with a great group of people on different challenges every day. From meeting new clients to understand their design aspirations and creating a proposal that they will love to be getting on the project on site and helping see the client project come to life.
