Extension and Redevelopment, Taste Perthshire, Bankfoot, Perth
Taste Perthshire (formerly Perthshire Visitor Centre) is located directly to the west of the northbound A9 trunk road between Perth and Bankfoot. Marketed as “the very best of Perthshire under one roof” Taste Perthshire sources food, drink, clothing and gifts from across Perthshire and Scotland for sale within their extensive retail facilities. Alongwith the retail offer there is also an established restaurant on the site.
The building in its current form relies on a confusing retail plan and is limited in visibility and accessibility both to and within the building.
Planning consent has recently been granted for the wholescale redevelopment of the building to provide a new main entrance to the building with proposed plans allowing for new extensive display windows to the main elevation to allow for greater visibility to the store within. To the eastern end of the extended building a large extension to the restaurant will be provided with the provision of a new panini and food to go offer to the western end of the extension.
Internally significant improvements will be made with a rationalisation of the main shop floor providing greater flexibility and visibility across the whole store vastly improving the visitor experience.
