Fabric repair, Cadzow Parish Church, Hamilton
The Church took a number of years to arrange for funding for the Fabric repairs to Cadzow Parish Church. The majority of the repairs include the complete strip and reslate of the steep slopes, replacement of all leadwork, renewal of clay ridge tiles, and there has been a large element of stone consolidation following investigation into stone stability. The project will be on site for a year in total. The steep slopes have proved challenging to the slaters who have had to strip and reslate the slopes using harnesses and anchor safe points.
As MILL Architects are Advanced Conservation Accredited the Church was able to apply to various Funding bodies to secure over £300K in Funding.
Our Conservation Accredited Architect continues to oversee the project on site, which has now moved to its Phase 2. Completion is due September this year.
